Argentina's Kevin Vallejos signed the most important victory of his career by defeating Josh Emmett by TKO in the first round of the main event of the UFC Vegas 114 held at the Apex UFC in Las Vegas. Vallejos knocked down the American veteran with a powerful right hand before finishing off the fight with a series of punches that forced referee Herb Dean to stop the fight at 3:33 of the first round. At just 24 years old, the South American prospect is consolidating himself as one of the great promises of featherweight after his fourth consecutive victory in the UFC. The defeat is a hard blow for Emmett, who is going through a complicated streak within the division.
