Arman Tsarukyan has once again put the spotlight on Ilia Topuria after publicly stating that the champion would be avoiding facing him within the lightweight division. The Armenian contender, considered one of the most dangerous fighters in lightweight, said on social networks and in recent statements that he has been waiting for the opportunity to fight the Spanish-Georgian for some time.
Tsarukyan explained that from his point of view the fight would make a lot of sense on a sporting level, since both fighters are among the strongest names in the division and the confrontation could clearly define the next contender for the belt.
The Armenian also recalled that he is willing to accept the fight on any important card that the UFC proposes, making it clear that his goal is still to face the best fighters in the category.
The statements have sparked debate among fans on social networks, where many followers consider that a fight between Topuria and Tsarukyan would be one of the most competitive matchups that the organization could currently schedule at lightweight.
