The WOW 29 event held at the Roig Arena in Valencia left one of the most important evenings of the year for mixed martial arts in Spain. Thousands of fans filled the venue to witness a card that combined consolidated fighters from the national circuit with several international talents.
The main fight pitted light heavyweight champion Enoc Solves against challenger Daniel Ladero in what was announced as the most important defense of the Valencian within the organization. Solves started the fight very aggressively and managed to put his opponent in serious trouble against the cage during the last seconds of the first round. However, the fight ended unexpectedly when a knee thrown in an illegal position caused the referee to stop the action and the final result was declared as "No Contest". Despite the controversial ending, Solves later announced his retirement from professional competition.
The card also left several outstanding performances in other professional fights. Damian Rzepecki put in a very solid fight against Corneliu Rotaru and took the victory by unanimous decision after three very dynamic rounds at lightweight. In another of the most intense bouts of the night, Antonio Fofirca got a second-round TKO victory against Jhonatan Venancino after dominating the standing exchanges.
The middleweight division also offered important moments. David Hervías achieved a hard-fought victory against Yunus Emre Batan after controlling much of the fight in grappling and finishing the fight in the third round. At that same weight, Geison Santana clearly prevailed over Cristian Valencia by securing a mataleon in the first round.
