Michael Chandler continues to cling to the idea of facing Conor McGregor despite the fact that Dana White has publicly cooled the fight for the event UFC White House. In a recent interview, the American acknowledged that he does not contemplate a "plan B": his only roadmap is still to share a cage with McGregor, ideally in the historic evening scheduled for the White House. Chandler recalled that he has been waiting for this duel for years since both were trainers on The Ultimate Fighter and that he has adjusted his entire recent career to that opportunity, even at the cost of rejecting other scenarios that could have allowed him to stay more active. Although White has described the fight as "out of date" compared to other plans for the event, Chandler assures that he will not give up on the confrontation until he sees McGregor officially paired with another opponent. In the meantime, he continues to train as if the announcement could come at any moment, aware that time is against him but trusting in the media pressure and McGregor's record of public promises. His message is clear: either fight the Irishman, or he will remain on pause until the organization makes a final decision.
